Lalitpur: On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, late leader and former Prime Minister, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba remembered him as a 'selfless personality' known as 'Kisunji' among his colleagues. Deuba, speaking at a discussion organized at the NC central office, reflected on the time when he first met Bhattarai in Nakkhu jail, praising his self-sacrificing nature.

Recalling Bhattarai's contribution to the issuance of the 1990 Constitution, Deuba acknowledged the late leader's role in shaping a constitution accepted both by the monarchy and citizens. He proposed further exploration and documentation of Bhattarai's personality.

NC Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka also paid tribute to Kisunji, describing him as a dedicated, integral, and unselfish leader. Khadka highlighted Bhattarai's integrity and commitment to the nation and democracy, noting his ability to prevent a party split despite losing an election as the party president.

Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung emphasized following Bhattarai's simplicity and integrity as a real tribute. He praised Kisunji as a relentless fighter for the nation, citizens, and democracy. NC joint general secretary Mahalaxmi Upadhyay 'Dina' stressed the party's responsibility to preserve Bhattarai's ideology, considering him a memorable figure in history.
