Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has announced plans to observe Constitution Day (National Day) 2081 with a series of special events over three days. Constitution Day, celebrated on Asoj 3 of the Lunar calendar, commemorates the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal on Asoj 3, 2072 BS (September 20, 2015).

A main celebration committee, led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, has been formed to oversee the festivities, which will take place from September 18 to 20 both in Nepal and at Nepali diplomatic missions abroad. The celebration will include a variety of activities such as dialogues, interactions, radio plays, and public awareness programs, as well as special publications focused on different aspects of the Constitution.

The highlight of the events will be a special illumination program on September 19, the main day of the celebration. A grand event at Tundikhel will feature the participation of members of the council of ministers, people's representatives, civil servants, and representatives from public and private organizations.

State-owned media, including Radio Nepal, Nepal Television, and Rastriya Samachar Samiti, will air special broadcasts and release publications dedicated to Constitution Day. Additionally, events will be organized in provincial capitals, districts, and local levels to engage communities across the nation in the celebration.
