Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has pledged to exercise his power and position with wisdom and competence following a successful vote of confidence in the House of Representatives. Leaders from various political parties and lawmakers have expressed optimism, stating that the formation of Oli's government has instilled hope and enthusiasm among the people.
After securing 188 votes in the trust motion on Sunday, PM Oli expressed his gratitude on social media, saying, "Parliament voted for trust in me. I will utilize my post with utmost judiciousness and competence. I thank all HoR members."
Leaders of various political parties commented positively on the new government. CPN UML's Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai highlighted the government's historic responsibility to direct the national economy positively, create an investment-friendly environment, and generate jobs. He also noted the government's role in potentially amending the constitution if necessary.
CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Rajendra Prasad Pandey emphasized the importance of addressing the country's and citizens' issues, focusing on good governance and corruption control.
Nepali Congress Spokesperson and former Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat praised the coalition's commitment to democracy and political stability. He assured that the collaboration among major parties would drive development and prosperity, turning people's hope into trust.
Meanwhile, CPN (Maoist Centre) leader and former Minister Rekha Sharma affirmed that her party would serve as a constructive opposition, supporting the government's positive initiatives while firmly opposing any regressive actions.
PM Oli, appointed as the 45th Prime Minister on July 12, secured two-thirds of the vote in Sunday's trust motion, signaling strong support for his administration's agenda.
