Kathmandu: Devotees have been gathering in large numbers at the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu and other Shiva temples across Nepal since early this morning. The influx of worshippers is particularly high as the month of Shrawan and Mondays are considered especially auspicious for offering prayers to Lord Shiva.

The Pashupati Area Development Trust has made extensive arrangements to accommodate the large crowds. These include enhanced security, the mobilization of volunteers, and the setup of health camps and drinking water facilities to ensure a smooth experience for devotees and "Bol Bum" revelers.

Beyond Pashupatinath, devotees have also been visiting other significant Shiva temples such as Gokarneshwor, Santaneshwor, Doleshwor, Kirateswor, Bhaleshwor, and Sanga in Kavrepalanchowk, as well as Devghat in Tanahun and Galeshwor in Myagdi. Many have taken holy dips and offered prayers at these sacred sites from the early hours of the morning.
