Kathmandu: Leaders from various political parties have called for legal action against individuals involved in cooperative fraud, including Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President and former Deputy Prime Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

During an interaction program on Saturday, the speakers insisted that those implicated in the embezzlement of cooperative assets should face justice as per the findings of the parliamentary special probe committee.

Nepali Congress leader Bhimsen Das Pradhan urged that Lamichhane be prosecuted based on the committee’s report, dismissing any defense by Lamichhane and his supporters. He also recommended that Nepali Congress Vice President Dhanraj Gurung resign from his post to facilitate the investigation.

CPN (UML) leader Sher Bahadur Tamang warned against attempts to manipulate the issue despite the clarity in the probe report, while CPN (Maoist Centre leader Lekhnath Dahal mentioned that Lamichhane’s involvement is not yet fully confirmed, signaling the need for continued investigation.
