Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan marked the first anniversary of the Gaza war by delivering a strong rebuke to Israel, accusing it of committing "genocide" in Gaza and warning that Israel would eventually face consequences for its actions.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Erdogan said, "Israel will sooner or later pay the price for this genocide that it has been carrying out for a year and is still continuing." The Turkish president has been a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause and frequently criticizes Israel's actions, particularly in relation to Gaza.

Erdogan went further, likening Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, stating, "Just as Hitler was stopped by an alliance of humanity, Netanyahu and his murder network will be stopped in the same way." He emphasized that a world that does not hold Israel accountable for the Gaza conflict will "never find peace."

The Turkish leader also lamented the failure of the international community to halt the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, calling for an end to Israel's "policy of genocide, occupation, and invasion."

Erdogan's comments come as tensions remain high in the region, with the conflict between Israel and Hamas continuing to draw international attention.
