Economic Growth and Rise of AI Driving UAE's Dynamic Labour Market

Abdhabi: The UAE has emerged as a global hub for professionals, cementing its reputation as a prime destination for skilled talent across various industries. This growth is driven by the country's robust and diversified economy, bolstered by an investment-friendly environment, advanced infrastructure, and forward-looking strategies emphasizing digital transformation and sustainability.

As 2025 unfolds, the UAE is expected to witness a surge in demand for highly skilled professionals, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI) and related fields. The rise of AI-driven technologies across industries is reshaping the job market, creating opportunities for professionals adept in areas such as AI programming, machine learning, data science, and process automation.

According to a 2024 report by global HR management firm Deel, the UAE is the top global choice for workers seeking work visas. Additionally, CEOWORLD Magazine ranked the UAE first regionally and fifth globally among the most preferred destinations for digital nomads. The country also secured the fourth spot globally in InterNations' ranking of the best countries for expatriates to live and work.

Bayt.com CEO Rabea Ataya emphasized that AI will significantly influence the UAE's labour market in 2025, automating repetitive tasks and allowing professionals to focus on problem-solving, learning, and innovation. This shift, he noted, opens pathways for individuals and organizations to embrace careers blending data-driven insights with creativity and intuition.

Ataya also highlighted the growing demand for technology and healthcare professionals, including software engineers and healthcare practitioners, to address advancements in AI and the diverse health needs of a growing population. Marketing, particularly in advertising, public relations, and digital marketing, remains a significant employer for fresh graduates.

Asem Galal, Managing Partner at Galal & Karawi Management Consulting, linked employment trends to the UAE's strong economic performance. With projections of economic growth rates surpassing global averages—5.1% by the IMF, 4.1% by the World Bank, and 4.5% by the UAE Central Bank—Galal predicts continued upward momentum in the job market, particularly for professionals in AI-driven roles.

Ahmed Gamal, Business Development Manager for Nvidia AI Solutions at Advanced Integration, lauded the UAE's advancements in AI and technology. Sovereign AI projects and large-scale data centres are set to generate job opportunities requiring specialized expertise, particularly for programmers and technical specialists.

As the UAE continues to set global benchmarks in worker rights and safety, its dynamic job market, coupled with economic growth and AI-driven innovation, is poised to remain a magnet for talent worldwide.
