'2025–2035 to Be Observed as Tourism Decade'

Kathmandu: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, announced plans to designate the years 2025 to 2035 as the "Tourism Decade." The announcement was made while addressing the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee of the National Assembly on Tuesday.

Minister Pandey highlighted the need for robust financial preparations to celebrate the Tourism Decade. He stated that discussions are underway to secure funding through state investment and potential foreign assistance for this decade-long tourism promotion initiative.

On another note, the Minister emphasized prioritizing cultural, tourism, and aviation sector issues. "Requests for assistance related to Stupas, temples, and mosques are assessed and prioritized based on how federal, provincial, and local governments can contribute to these causes," Pandey explained.

Regarding airport management, construction, and maintenance, Minister Pandey shared that feasibility studies are being conducted to evaluate the needs of operational airports. He assured that efforts are being made to ensure excellence in airport operations across the country.

Additionally, the Minister revealed a policy decision mandating that all government printing tasks be handled by the press located at the Nepal Academy.
