Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the key issues for constitutional amendment will be identified through intensive discussions with various political parties.

Addressing the first meeting of the fifth session of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, PM Oli emphasized that a comprehensive review of constitutional implementation and challenges will be conducted before considering any amendments. He highlighted the need to assess both the strengths and weaknesses that have emerged during the constitution’s practice.

Oli informed that the coalition partners, Nepali Congress and CPN (UML), have formed a study task force consisting of experts. This task force will engage in discussions with both government-affiliated and opposition parties, as well as key stakeholders, to identify priority areas for amendment.

"All parties have their own perspectives, but we will work towards a common consensus on agreed-upon issues and continue discussions on unresolved matters," he stated. He also noted that it is the government's role to introduce constitutional amendment bills.
