Kathmandu: The House of Representatives of Nepal is scheduled to meet at 1:00 PM today, with discussions on the government’s policies and programs expected to dominate the agenda.

Lawmakers from various political parties are set to express their views on the policies and programs presented by President Ram Chandra Poudel during Monday’s joint session of the Federal Parliament.

The ongoing parliamentary session will also focus on preparations for the presentation of the national budget for the fiscal year 2083/84. As mandated by the Constitution of Nepal, the federal budget must be presented on Jestha 15 each year.

Meanwhile, opposition lawmakers are preparing to strongly raise the issue of Prime Minister Balendra Shah leaving the joint parliamentary session midway while the President was addressing the House.

Opposition leaders have already criticized the incident, calling it disrespectful toward the Head of State and parliamentary dignity. The Prime Minister’s advisors have claimed that he left the meeting due to health problems.

However, the explanation has not fully settled the controversy, as critics argue that the Prime Minister’s physical movement and behavior did not indicate signs of illness. The incident has continued to generate debate in political circles and on social media.
