Manang: Despite the winter season and the usual off-peak period for tourism, 618 foreign tourists from 46 countries visited Manang in January. The lack of snowfall this year has encouraged more visitors to explore the mountainous district.
According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Manang Office, the highest number of visitors came from China, with 199 tourists arriving during the Chinese New Year holiday period. Additionally, 106 Indian tourists also visited the district.
Unlike previous years, when foreign tourist numbers remained low in the off-season, this year has seen an encouraging rise. ACAP Manang Chief Dhak Bahadur Bhujel expressed optimism, noting that this trend is a positive sign for tourism entrepreneurs in the region.
