New York: The United States has called on both Ukraine and Russia to support its resolution aimed at ending the ongoing war, as the UN General Assembly prepares to vote on a proposal marking the third anniversary of the conflict.

US Ambassador to the UN, Dorothy Shea, emphasized the urgency of achieving a swift end to the war and ensuring a lasting peace between the two nations. "Our draft implores a swift end to the conflict and further urges a lasting peace between Ukraine and Russia. This is what is needed now," she stated, urging all member states, including Ukraine and Russia, to support the initiative.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Mariana Betsa, issued a stark warning to the UN, arguing that justifying aggression sets a dangerous precedent for global security. "If aggression is justified and a victim is blamed for its resilience and will to survive, then no country is safe," she stated.

The UN General Assembly's vote on the resolution is expected to shape international efforts toward peace and the broader global response to the ongoing war.
