Kathmandu: The monsoon season has become increasingly active across Nepal, with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reporting the monsoon low-pressure line positioned slightly north of its usual path. This shift is contributing to widespread weather disturbances across the country.

Cloudy Skies and Rainfall Expected This Afternoon
Most regions in Nepal are likely to remain generally cloudy this afternoon. The hilly areas, particularly in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. Similar weather conditions are also forecasted in select areas of the remaining provinces.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some hilly locations within Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces. Additionally, high-hilly and mountainous regions may experience light to moderate rain or snowfall, depending on elevation and temperature.

Continued Rainfall and Thunderstorms Expected Tonight
The unsettled weather is expected to continue into the night, with general cloud cover across the country. Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces are likely to see light to moderate rain and thunderstorms at many places. Isolated areas in these provinces may experience heavy rainfall.

Similar to daytime forecasts, light to moderate rain or snowfall is also expected in the high-hilly and mountainous regions during the night.

Public Advisory
Residents living in vulnerable areas, particularly in the hills and mountains, are advised to remain alert due to the potential for landslides, flash floods, and other rain-induced disasters. Travelers and trekkers should stay updated on weather alerts and plan accordingly.

The Meteorological Division continues to monitor the monsoon system and urges the public to follow official updates for safety and preparedness.
