Kathmandu: The low-pressure line of the monsoon is currently positioned around the Sardar area, and the inflow of moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal is expected to enhance monsoon activity across the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The Division forecasts generally cloudy conditions nationwide, with moderate rainfall likely in several hilly areas and in some parts of the Terai. Heavy rainfall is particularly expected in the Terai belt of Lumbini Province, as well as at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

For tonight, the weather is predicted to remain generally cloudy in most hilly regions, including Madhes, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, while other regions will experience partial cloud cover. Moderate rain is likely in some areas of Madhes, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, and at isolated spots elsewhere. One or two areas in the hilly regions of Gandaki and the Terai of Lumbini Province could witness heavy downpours.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley continues to see deteriorating weather conditions, with intermittent rainfall persisting since morning.
