Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has issued key directives to Nepali ambassadors abroad regarding recent political changes, the upcoming elections, and revitalization of economic activities, during a virtual meeting held on Wednesday evening.

According to Lok Bahadur Chhetri, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister instructed diplomats to focus on five major priorities to strengthen Nepal’s global engagement and image.

Informing Global Partners About Nepal’s Political Developments

Prime Minister Karki emphasized the need for ambassadors to officially brief host countries and stakeholders on the latest political transformations in Nepal, ensuring clarity and confidence among international partners.

Coordinating for Election Support

With the election date already fixed, the Prime Minister called for effective coordination with foreign governments and organizations to seek necessary technical and logistical support for the smooth conduct of elections.

Promoting Tourism and Economic Revival

Highlighting the normalization of the situation following recent protests, Karki urged ambassadors to actively promote Nepal as a safe and open destination for tourism and investment, stressing that economic activities have fully resumed.

Enhancing Services for Nepalis Abroad

The Prime Minister instructed missions to improve service delivery for Nepalis living overseas by adopting faster and more technology-friendly processes, aligning with the expectations of migrant communities.

Supporting Reconstruction Efforts

Finally, she requested ambassadors to spread awareness about Nepal’s Reconstruction Fund account, encouraging support for ongoing rebuilding and development initiatives.

The directives, according to officials, reflect the government’s focus on restoring international confidence and mobilizing global cooperation as Nepal heads toward a new phase of political stability and democratic renewal.
