Agreement Reached to Ensure Environment for Falgun 21 Elections

Kathmandu: An agreement has been reached to create a conducive environment for the parliamentary elections scheduled for Falgun 21. The understanding was forged during a discussion held Tuesday afternoon at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas, under the leadership of President Ram Chandra Poudel.
Top Political Leadership Present
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. President’s Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel confirmed the outcome of the discussions.
Further Talks Planned in Baluwatar
According to Pokharel, the leaders also agreed to hold detailed follow-up discussions in Baluwatar aimed at strengthening the overall election environment and addressing outstanding concerns.
President Stresses Collective Responsibility
President Poudel emphasized that the elections have been announced to resolve the country’s serious and sensitive situation. “Keeping this seriousness in mind, it is the sole responsibility of all of us to make the election successful,” he said during the meeting.
Elections Seen as Way Forward
Calling the election the most appropriate option to address the current complex political situation, the President urged the Prime Minister and leaders of the major political parties to work collectively to ensure the success of the Falgun 21 polls.
First Joint Discussion Since Gen-G Movement
This marks the first time since the Gen-G movement that the President and Prime Minister have held a joint discussion with leaders of the three major political forces at the Presidential Office, signaling a renewed effort toward political consensus.
