Home Minister Gurung Proposes Domestic Production of Police Uniforms

Kathmandu: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has unveiled an ambitious plan to produce Nepal Police uniforms within the country, aiming to boost domestic industry and create local employment opportunities.

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu, Minister Gurung announced that the government plans to establish its own factory dedicated to manufacturing police uniforms. He noted that the proposed industry would be set up in rural areas outside major cities, with the goal of generating jobs for local communities.

“If police uniforms are produced domestically, it will support industrial growth, create employment, and ensure timely availability of essential materials,” Gurung said.

The minister also highlighted the need to improve nutrition and working conditions for police personnel. Emphasizing the importance of physical and mental well-being, he stated that adequate nutrition and facilities are crucial for officers who serve the public around the clock.

According to Gurung, the ministry has already moved forward with related proposals, and preparations are underway to implement the plans in the near future.
