Kathmandu: A delegation of industrialists from South Korea, led by Ambassador Park Taeyoung, visited Nepal and held discussions with Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Prakash Jwala. During the meeting, the South Korean delegation expressed interest in investing in Nepal's infrastructure sector and sought a proposal for potential investment opportunities.

The delegation, which includes the South Korean ambassador to Nepal, highlighted their existing investment in Nepal's hydropower sector and expressed readiness to explore opportunities in infrastructure development as well. They specifically mentioned their interest in investing in roadway and railway projects in Nepal.

Ambassador Park emphasized South Korea's commitment to investing in Nepal's infrastructure and indicated their willingness to engage in detailed discussions regarding specific projects. He noted that the potential for Korean investment in Nepal's infrastructure sector had been discussed in the past, but due to changes in the government, formal agreements were not reached.

As the establishment of diplomatic ties between Nepal and South Korea approaches its 50th year, South Korea aims to mark the occasion by contributing to Nepal's development through investment.

Minister Jwala expressed his commitment to preparing investment proposals that align with the interests of South Korean investors. He acknowledged the potential for such agreements to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries. He also expressed gratitude to the Korean government for its training programs for Nepali engineers, which have contributed to skill development in Nepal.

The discussions between the South Korean delegation and the Nepali government reflect the growing interest in international investment and collaboration to enhance Nepal's infrastructure and development projects.
