Paras Khadka Assumes Leadership of Bagmati Province Cricket Association

Kathmandu: Former captain of the Nepali National Cricket Team, Paras Khadka, has emerged as the newly elected Chairperson of the Bagmati Province Cricket Association.

In a landmark decision, the second convention and general assembly of the Association, held on Friday, resulted in the election of a 13-member working committee, with Khadka leading the charge. Khadka secured a decisive victory by defeating his opponent, Umesh Piya, by a margin of nine votes, garnering a total of 23 votes in his favor.

Khadka's association with cricket in Nepal extends beyond this latest appointment. He currently serves as a working committee member of the Kathmandu District Cricket Association and holds the position of Vice-Chairperson in the Chitwan District Cricket Association.

Other key appointments within the Bagmati Province Cricket Association include the election of Prem Bahadur Chhetri as Vice-Chairperson, Prashanna Shakya as Secretary, and Sanjay Basnet as Treasurer. The executive committee is further complemented by members Ajaybir Pandey, Anil Adhikary, Sanjog Shrestha, Sujan Maharjan, Dhiraj Shrestha, Shekhar Shrestha, and Basanta Raj Satyal. Additionally, Nira Rajopadhayay secured her position as a women's member through an uncontested election.
