Kathmandu: Renowned actor Anmol KC has been taken into custody on accusations of criminal betrayal, as confirmed by Senior Superintendent of Police Somendra Singh Rathore at the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office of Nepal Police.

The arrest, which took place in Sanga, Bhaktapur on Friday, follows the issuance of an arrest warrant by the court for criminal betrayal. SSP Rathore stated that Anmol KC was apprehended based on a complaint filed against him. The complaint alleges that the actor accepted a Rs 1 million advance for his role in the movie 'Ravayana' but declined to sign the contract and failed to participate in the film's shooting.

Efforts for mediation were initiated by the police after KC did not respond to their requests, leading to his arrest. It has come to light that other actors involved in the movie also received over 10 million rupees collectively from the producers. The police have indicated that a comprehensive investigation is ongoing.
