Kathmandu: In preparation for the upcoming Bala Chaturdashi festival on December 11, authorities have imposed a temporary ban on the production, transportation, sale, purchase, storage, and consumption of alcohol and meat in the vicinity of the Pashupatinath Temple.
Raj Kumar Khatri, the Member Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), confirmed that the prohibition covers areas east from the Gaushala Mitrapark roadway, west from the east border of the Pashupati area, north from the Gaushala Tilganga ring road, and the entire southern area from Guheshwori via Mitrapark-Umakund-Gaurighat.
The ban is set to remain in effect until December 13. Violations of this order will be subject to punishment in accordance with existing laws.
