Man Arrested for Violating Privacy of Gaushala-26

Kathmandu: The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested a 32-year-old man, Kesharman Rai from Sankhuwasabha, on charges of violating the privacy of a woman identified as Gaushala-26. The arrest was made based on a complaint filed by Gaushala-26, who accused Rai of making her identity, including a photo, public on social media.

Rai was arrested with the assistance of Sankhuwasabha Police and brought to Kathmandu. Following his arrest, Rai has been remanded to judicial custody by the Kathmandu district court. Gaushala-26 had filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau seeking action against individuals involved in making her identity public.

The case involves allegations against national cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who was convicted of raping Gaushala-26. The Kathmandu District Court had sentenced Lamichhane to eight years in prison, along with a fine of Rs 500,000 to be paid as compensation to the rape survivor.



New
