UML's Suhang Nembang Emerges Victorious in Ilam-2 By-Election

Fikkal: Suhang Nembang of the CPN UML has clinched victory in the by-election for the House of Representatives seat from Ilam constituency no-2 held on April 27.
According to the chief returning officer, Keshav Prasad Ghimire, Nembang secured a total of 27,772 votes, surpassing his closest rival Dambar Bahadur Khadka from the Nepali Congress, who received 21,942 votes.
Notably, Nembang was also supported by the Nepal Pariwar Dal during the election.
Other candidates in the race included Dakendra Sing Limbu (Thegim), who collected 11,457 votes, and Milan Limbu from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, who garnered 5,050 votes. Mani Bahadur Limbu from the Mangol National Organization received 816 votes.
Out of the total 115,889 registered voters in the constituency, 69,287 individuals exercised their voting rights in the April 27 by-election. A total of 19 candidates from 12 political parties and seven independents contested in the election.
