Monsoon Active in Five Provinces

Kathmandu: Monsoon conditions are currently active in five provinces of Nepal. After entering from Koshi province, the monsoon has extended to most parts of Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and the eastern region of Lumbini. The influence of westerly and local winds is minimal in the remaining provinces.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, the monsoon combined with westerly winds has resulted in completely cloudy skies over Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces this morning, while the rest of the country is partially cloudy.

Currently, some areas in Gandaki and a few in Bagmati, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces are experiencing light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

The daily bulletin from the Weather Forecasting Division indicates a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places within Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Additionally, a few places in Koshi and Madhes, and one or two locations in the remaining parts of the country, might also experience similar weather conditions.

Tonight, the weather is forecasted to remain generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and partly cloudy to mostly clear in other parts of the country.
