Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to seek a vote of confidence from the federal parliament on July 21. The Prime Minister has officially requested the federal parliament secretariat to include this proposal on the agenda for the House of Representatives meeting scheduled for Sunday.

This move comes in accordance with Article 76 (4) of the Constitution, which mandates that the Prime Minister seek a vote of confidence within 30 days of their appointment. Oli was appointed as the Prime Minister on July 14 under Article 76 (2) of the Constitution, following support from the Nepali Congress.

The decision to seek a vote of confidence is crucial for PM Oli to solidify his position as the head of the government, ensuring the continuation of his administration. President Ramchandra Paudel formally appointed Oli as the Prime Minister last Sunday.
