Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a weather advisory, predicting heavy rainfall in several regions across Nepal. Due to the influence of widespread monsoon winds and a low-pressure line shifting towards the western part of its average location, the country is expected to experience generally cloudy skies with intermittent rain.
The department reports that light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is already occurring in various parts of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. This weather pattern is likely to continue, with heavier downpours anticipated in Koshi, Madhes, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
For the afternoon, the forecast predicts generally cloudy conditions nationwide, with light to moderate rainfall expected in most provinces. Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely at some locations within Koshi, Madhes, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The department has also warned of continued rainfall into the night, with similar conditions expected to persist over the next 24 hours. In light of the potential for heavy rainfall, particularly in Koshi, Madhes, and Lumbini provinces, the department has urged residents to take precautionary safety measures to mitigate risks associated with flooding and landslides.
