Beijing: China is set to host the 3rd High-Level Conference on Intellectual Property (IP) for Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries from September 11 to 13, according to the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). The conference will bring together leaders from around 70 IP institutions from BRI partner countries, as well as representatives from international and regional organizations.

Approximately 450 participants are expected, including embassy representatives, officials, industry experts, and scholars. The conference will focus on topics like regional cooperation, green development, digital transformation, and IP value enhancement.

In addition, CNIPA, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the Eurasian Patent Office will hold meetings discussing the role of IP in driving innovation. China has signed cooperation agreements with 57 BRI countries and has actively supported IP capacity building through training and exchanges.

Since 2013, China has trained over 1,300 IP professionals and sent experts to over 10 countries to enhance IP cooperation and development.
