Coordination, Cooperation Needed to Combat Organized Crime, Terrorism: Home Minister

Kathmandu: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation among law enforcement agencies to combat transnational organized crime, cybercrime, and terrorism. Speaking at a program held at the Nepal Police Headquarters to mark the centenary of INTERPOL's establishment, the minister highlighted the vital role of international collaboration in addressing criminal activities.

Minister Lekhak pointed out that INTERPOL's support is crucial in fighting such crimes, and the exchange of best practices, expertise, and information at the global level is essential for effective crime control.

Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadee praised the Nepal Police for maintaining law and order, calling their efforts praiseworthy. He also emphasized that the Home Ministry remains committed to further strengthening the security agencies.

Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal echoed the need for joint efforts among law enforcement agencies to combat organized crime, cybercrime, and terrorism.

Inspector General of Nepal Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar also stressed the importance of international coordination in bringing criminals to justice and ensuring law enforcement is effective across borders.
