Monsoon Winds Influence Nepal with Forecasts of Rain and Thunderstorms

Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reports that monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country, with the low-pressure line of the monsoon situated south of its usual position. As a result, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across Nepal.

Light to moderate rainfall is ongoing in one or two locations within the Koshi and Gandaki provinces. The Meteorological Forecasting Division predicts further light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces throughout the day. Heavy rainfall is expected in isolated spots within Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, similar weather conditions will persist, with possible rain and thunderstorms in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while heavy rainfall could occur in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim.

The Department advises residents in these provinces to remain cautious and alert in light of potential heavy rains over the next 24 hours.
