Kathmandu: A delegation of Chinese investors engaged in discussions with Nepal's Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, on potential investment opportunities in the country.

The meeting, held on Wednesday, saw a dozen Chinese investors express interest in Nepal’s industrial sectors and inquire about investment policies. Minister Bhandari reassured the delegation, stating that Nepal's agriculture, hydropower, tourism, education, and IT sectors are open to investment without any legal or policy obstacles. "The Nepal government will ensure the security of foreign investments," he affirmed.

Bhandari also highlighted ongoing efforts to establish a Chinese-invested industry in Panchkhal, Kavre, with the government committed to providing the necessary land.

The delegation leader, Yin Liubing, expressed their keen interest in investing in Nepal. Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut added that the legal framework was supportive, noting that company registration could be easily initiated through the online system.
