Kathmandu: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has emphasized the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen both the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force (APF). Speaking at the APF basic training graduation ceremony for assistant inspectors at the APF Training Centre today, Minister Lekhak highlighted that amendments to relevant acts and laws are underway to enhance the capabilities of the police forces. A bill has already been moved forward to address the evolving needs.

The Home Minister praised the security agencies for their critical role in ensuring state and citizen security, border protection, internal security management, and controlling revenue leakage. He commended the APF for its high level of competency and distinguished presence in national security since its establishment.

Minister Lekhak acknowledged the challenges of maintaining peace and security in a rapidly changing political, social, economic, and security environment. He assured the government's commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure and support for further capacity enhancement and training.

"Peace and security are fundamental for national development, and public cooperation is essential to strengthen the national security system," he added, urging the newly graduated assistant inspectors to serve the nation and its citizens with professionalism and dedication.

A total of 68 participants successfully completed the APF training, with APF Chief Raju Aryal and Nepal Police Chief Basanta Bahadur Kunwar also attending the event.
