Constitution Has Ended Discrimination and Oppression: President Paudel

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has emphasized that Nepal's Constitution has played a vital role in uniting the country's ethnically, religiously, culturally, and geographically diverse society by eradicating discrimination and oppression previously imposed by a centralized and unitary governance system.

In a message delivered on Constitution Day and National Day 2081 BS, President Paudel expressed his belief that the occasion would motivate political parties, leadership, the government, and state mechanisms to become more democratic, just, and effective in their responsibilities.

The President highlighted the Constitution's significance in fostering aspirations for lasting peace, good governance, development, and prosperity under Nepal's federal democratic republican system. He also praised the political activists, general public, and leaders for their contributions and leadership in political movements for the republic's establishment.

President Paudel further paid tribute to known and unknown martyrs who lost their lives during various movements aimed at achieving a republican system.
