Kathmandu: Manchester City have won the 2022-23 Premier League title after Arsenal were defeated 1-0 by Nottingham Forest. City were confirmed as champions without even having to kick a ball, as Arsenal's defeat at the City Ground left them four points adrift of the top spot with just one game remaining.

This is City's fifth Premier League title in six seasons, and their seventh overall since they were bought by Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2008.

City will now be looking to complete a historic treble, as they face Manchester United in the FA Cup final on June 3 and Inter Milan in the Champions League final a week later.

Pep Guardiola's side have been relentless in the run-in, winning 11 straight games in all competitions to secure the title.

Arsenal's collapse in form has been a major factor in City's title win, as the Gunners have won just two of their last eight games.

A win at the City Ground would have delayed the inevitable, but Taiwo Awoniyi's 19th-minute goal for Nottingham Forest ensured that City would be crowned champions.

The victory also ensured that Nottingham Forest would be safe from relegation in their first season back in the Premier League since 1999.

City's title win is a testament to their incredible consistency and quality over the past few years.

Pep Guardiola has built a team that is capable of competing on all fronts, and they will be looking to add to their trophy collection in the coming weeks.
