PM Oli Meets Bangladesh’s Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Attends Biden’s Reception at UNGA

New York: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held a meeting with Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The discussion focused on enhancing Nepal-Bangladesh relations, particularly in energy and transit cooperation, tourism, cultural exchanges, educational ties, and regional cooperation, according to Bishnu Rimal, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister.

Later, Prime Minister Oli attended a reception hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts, where he joined heads of state and government from various countries participating in the UNGA.

Additionally, Alice Albright, CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Oli. They discussed Nepal’s ongoing MCC projects, emphasizing early completion of infrastructure projects, including transmission lines and highways, to improve Nepal's connectivity. Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and Chief Advisor Rimal were also present at the meetings.
