Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has launched a service for exchanging clean notes for the public starting today, in preparation for the upcoming Dashain festival.

The service will be available until October 8 at NRB's central and provincial offices, as well as at all banks and financial institutions across the country.

Dr. Dilliram Pokhrel, NRB's assistant spokesperson, stated that individuals can exchange up to Rs 18,500 in denominations of Rs 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100. Unlike previous years, when the central bank circulated completely new notes for Dashain, this year the public will receive used but clean and unstained notes.
