Country Receives Rs 263 Billion in Remittance in Second Month of FY 2024/25

Kathmandu: Nepal received over Rs 263 billion in remittances during the second month of the current fiscal year, marking a 15.2% increase compared to Rs 228.37 billion in the same period last year, according to the Nepal Rastra Bank’s "Current Macroeconomic and Financial Situation" report.

In U.S. dollar terms, remittance inflows reached $1.96 billion in the month of Bhadra, up from $1.73 billion during the same period last year. While the growth rate of remittances has slightly slowed compared to the 18.7% increase recorded last year, the inflow remains a significant contribution to the country's economy.

Additionally, 76,485 Nepali workers received first-time approvals for foreign employment, while 40,583 workers renewed their entry permits for overseas jobs during the review period.
