Election Offices Established for December 1 Local By-Elections

Kathmandu: The Election Commission (EC) has set up 38 election offices to oversee the upcoming local-level by-elections scheduled for December 1. This includes 32 offices of chief election officers and six offices of election officers at various local levels.

Key Details of the By-Elections
Election Timetable:

Filing of electoral candidacies: November 17.
Final list of candidates and allocation of symbols: November 20.
Voting day: December 1, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Positions to Be Filled:

Two district coordination committee chiefs.
Two rural municipality chairs.
One mayor.
One deputy mayor.
34 ward chairs.
In total, 44 local representatives will be elected through these by-polls.

Administrative Updates
Nita Pokharel Aryal has been appointed as the new spokesperson for the EC, as per the decision announced by Assistant Spokesperson Durga Prasad Chalise.

The electoral programs will be carried out at the designated facilities between November 17 and 20, ensuring smooth preparation and execution of the by-elections.
