Prayagraj: The Maha Kumbh, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, has garnered global attention as a 21-member international delegation from 10 countries visited the Sangam in Prayagraj on Thursday. Organized by the Uttar Pradesh government, this grand event has become a platform for showcasing India's rich spiritual heritage. The delegation, invited by India's Ministry of External Affairs, included representatives from Fiji, Finland, Guyana, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United Arab Emirates.

Delegates shared their heartfelt experiences during the visit. Denesh Persaud from Guyana described his holy dip in the River Ganges as a "dream come true" and encouraged others to partake in the spiritual journey. Sally El Azab from the UAE praised the exceptional organization of the event, highlighting the safety measures and seamless arrangements that cater to the massive influx of devotees. Both expressed deep appreciation for the event's spiritual and cultural significance.

To accommodate the millions of pilgrims and ensure their safety, the Prayagraj administration has implemented innovative solutions, such as an AI-based computerized lost-and-found center. According to Additional Mela Adhikari Vivek Chaturvedi, the center has successfully reunited countless individuals with their families and provided temporary support, including accommodation, clothing, and food, for those in need. In cases where reunification isn't immediately possible, the administration ensures the safe return of individuals to their homes.

Since its commencement on January 13, over six crore devotees have participated in the Maha Kumbh, including 3.5 crore pilgrims who took a holy dip on Makar Sankranti. The event will continue until February 26, with significant upcoming bathing dates, including Mauni Amavasya (January 29), Basant Panchami (February 3), Maghi Purnima (February 12), and Maha Shivaratri (February 26). The Maha Kumbh not only strengthens India's spiritual traditions but also demonstrates its capability to host large-scale international gatherings, fostering cultural exchange and unity.
