Kathmandu: On the occasion of the Nepali New Year 2082, President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have extended heartfelt wishes to the people and called for a united commitment to the nation’s progress and prosperity.
In his New Year message, President Paudel urged all citizens to come together with renewed enthusiasm and a common resolve to build a prosperous Nepal. Highlighting the cultural and civilizational importance of the Bikram Sambat calendar, he noted that it symbolizes Nepal’s ancient heritage and provides an occasion for reflection and renewal.
“This is the time to review the past and set new goals for the future,” said the President. He emphasized the need for collective national purpose, encouraging citizens to make meaningful resolutions that contribute to national development. Paudel also pointed to the importance of harnessing Nepal's agricultural, tourism, and water resources to achieve economic prosperity, while underscoring the values of democracy, justice, and effective governance.
Echoing similar sentiments, Prime Minister Oli stressed that the government alone cannot fulfill the vision of a prosperous Nepal. “We can achieve success only with the joint efforts, hard work, and contribution of all Nepalis, both at home and abroad,” he said in his message.
The Prime Minister highlighted the opportunities of the new year as a time for fresh energy, hope, and positive thinking. He called on all citizens to embrace the nation’s ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity as a strength and to maintain unity to overcome challenges.
Oli also emphasized the potential of Nepal's youth, stating that their passion and innovation are vital for nation-building. “The government is committed to empowering youth through entrepreneurship, education, and self-employment,” he said.
Both leaders expressed hope that the new year would inspire citizens to move forward with optimism, patriotism, and a shared commitment to national progress.
