Kathmandu: The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), or CPN-UML, has successfully concluded its district committee conventions across the country, albeit one year later than the original schedule.

The final convention was held in Dhanusha district, completing the cycle of conventions that were originally mandated to be completed by Jestha 2081 BS. With this, the party has wrapped up its organizational restructuring at the district level.

Dr. Vijay Subba, Chairman of the UML's Central Election Commission, confirmed the completion and announced that the party has now shifted focus toward conducting general conventions of its affiliated people's organizations within the current month of Jestha.

According to Dr. Subba, general conventions are still pending for key organizations including the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), All Nepal Women's Association, Nepal Farmers' Federation, Nepal Sports Federation, and National Health Workers' Federation.

The UML has instructed its organizational wings to form 151 central committees for large people's organizations and 99 for smaller ones, as part of its broader structural realignment.
