Hetauda: The CPN-UML has declared its support for the establishment faction of the ruling Nepali Congress in the Bagmati Province government. This announcement was made by Jagannath Thapaliya, leader of the UML's Bagmati Province parliamentary party, while officially disclosing the party's decision.

Thapaliya clarified that the UML’s power-sharing agreement is with the Nepali Congress as a party, not with any individual. He emphasized that the UML will support whichever leader represents the official establishment of the Congress and added that his party remains vigilant to prevent instability in the provincial government due to internal disputes within the Nepali Congress.

Amid this development, the CPN-UML has also called for halting the cabinet expansion process initiated by Bagmati Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama. Lama has reportedly lost his status as the leader of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party, raising questions about the legitimacy of his actions.
