Trishuli (Nuwakot): Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that elections are the only way to overcome the current political adversity facing the country.
Speaking while inaugurating the Ghalegaon Cultural Building at Panchakanya Rural Municipality-3, Nuwakot, on Sunday, Dahal said that restoring citizens’ rights and ensuring political stability is only possible through timely elections.
He stressed that national political unity is crucial to conduct the polls smoothly. “Not only communist forces but all other political parties, including the Nepali Congress, should now focus on the election. If the scheduled date of March 5 is insufficient for preparation, the polls can be held between Baisakh and Jestha (mid-April to mid-June 2026),” he said.
Dahal expressed confidence that CPN-UML would also eventually join election preparations, noting that other parties, including the Nepali Congress, have already shown readiness. He reiterated that prioritising the election is the only viable path to resolving the nation's political instability.
