Kathmandu: Newly re-elected CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has cautioned that any attack on the party’s leadership would provoke a strong nationwide response. Addressing a cadre gathering in Kathmandu on Thursday, shortly after the swearing-in ceremony following the party’s 11th general convention, Oli said such actions could push the country into serious instability.

Oli alleged that there were attempts to target UML leaders through what he described as media trials, rumors, false cases and even physical threats. He claimed that such moves reflected a revival of practices reminiscent of the Panchayat era and warned party cadres to remain alert and prepared.

Stressing the need for organizational readiness across the country, Oli urged UML workers to be prepared for agitation if necessary. He asserted that any move against the UML leadership would have serious consequences, adding that the party would respond not only in words but also through action.

Chairman Oli also remarked that efforts were underway to undermine the UML and destabilize the current political balance, and he called on party members to stand united and vigilant in the face of such challenges.
