Kathmandu: Parsa Police have announced plans to strengthen security arrangements in a technology-friendly and systematic manner in preparation for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

As part of the initiative, CCTV cameras will be installed at all 167 polling stations across the district to enhance monitoring. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Basnet, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Parsa, the move aims to ensure that the elections are conducted in a secure, fair and orderly manner. Authorities have set a target to connect all polling stations to the CCTV system by Falgun 17.

Police believe that the use of surveillance cameras will help promote transparency and maintain decorum during the voting process. In addition, adequate security personnel will be mobilized, regular monitoring will be carried out, and close coordination with other security agencies will be maintained.

The police have also appealed to the public and all stakeholders to extend their cooperation to help ensure a peaceful voting environment.
