Kathmandu: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has called upon the visiting Members of Parliament (MPs) from Japan to encourage greater investment from Japan into Nepal.

A delegation of Members from the Upper House of the Japanese Parliament, along with members of the Nepal-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group including Kobayashi Kazuhiro and Nagai Manbu, are currently on an official visit to Nepal.

In a meeting held on Thursday between the NCC team and the Japanese MPs, the NCC representatives emphasized the importance of fostering increased investment between the two nations. They highlighted the historical diplomatic and economic ties that bind Nepal and Japan.

Rajendra Malla, the Chairman of NCC, stressed the need to strengthen mutual cooperation through expanded investment and collaborative business ventures. Malla urged the Japanese MPs to facilitate an environment conducive to enhanced investment in Nepal's key sectors such as hydropower, infrastructure, tourism, and technology.

Malla also advocated for technology transfer in the agricultural sector, which he believed would greatly benefit Nepal's growth and development.

The discussions underscored the potential for deepening economic ties between Nepal and Japan, fostering prosperity and development for both nations.
