Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Gagan Kumar Thapa has demanded a comprehensive investigation into the recent attack on NC Joint General Secretary Mahendra Yadav. Thapa made this call during a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today.

Thapa expressed concern over the attack on Yadav, who was reportedly assaulted with a sharp weapon in broad daylight in Kathmandu. He revealed that he had met with the medical team responsible for Yadav's care and learned that Yadav had narrowly survived the assault. Thapa criticized attempts to downplay the incident by attributing it to the alleged perpetrator's mental instability.

The NC lawmaker urged the government to initiate a thorough investigation into the attack, aiming to uncover all the facts surrounding the incident. He also highlighted the importance of ensuring the safety of political figures while in the streets of Kathmandu.

During the same session, lawmaker Dhawal Shumer JB Rana echoed Thapa's call for an investigation into the attack on Yadav.
