Samsung Electronics Global President Meets Nepali President Paudel

Kathmandu: Samsung Electronics Global President, Seung Hee Park, paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel. The meeting took place at Sheetal Niwas, the official residence of the President.

During the meeting, President Paudel praised the remarkable development achieved by the Republic of Korea and expressed his interest in various aspects of information technology.

In response, President Park briefed President Paudel about Samsung's diverse activities, including potential industries that could be established in Nepal. He also discussed high-level information technology training initiatives for Nepali students under Samsung's corporate social responsibility. Additionally, they explored the possibilities of future cooperation between Samsung and Nepal.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking Samsung officials, including Vice-Chairmen Hyung Gyu Lee and Sung Jun Park, Managing Director Hyun Lee, South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Tae-Young, and Chairperson of Golchha Group, Shekhar Golchha, among others.

It was revealed during the meeting that Golchha Group had established a television factory in Nawalparasi district in April, based on Samsung Company's technology. The factory has the capacity to produce up to 100,000 television sets annually at full capacity, as shared by Global President Park.

Furthermore, a two-year program called the Samsung Technology Transfer Programme has been launched, involving 100 students at Pulchowk Engineering Campus. This program aims to transfer technological knowledge and skills to Nepali students.

President Paudel expressed his satisfaction with the technology transfer program, the television factory's production, and the employment opportunities created by the factory. The meeting highlighted the potential for further collaboration between Samsung and Nepal in the field of technology and industrial development.
