Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' delivered a message on the occasion of Constitution Day, emphasizing the government's commitment to transform people's livelihoods through the implementation of the Constitution.
PM Prachanda stated that the government has embarked on an extensive campaign to realize the true essence of the federal democratic republic envisioned by the Constitution. He highlighted the government's efforts to expand the reach of good governance, prosperity, and social justice. The implementation of existing laws and the formulation of new laws, essential for constitutional implementation, are expected to usher in significant political changes in the country.
"The government's primary focus is to launch a significant nation-building campaign grounded in social justice, good governance, and prosperity. This will involve strengthening the democratic republic and institutionalizing the political accomplishments achieved thus far," the PM emphasized.
The Prime Minister recalled that the new constitution was promulgated as a collective endeavor, born out of the 10-year-long people's war, the 2006 people's movement, and other political uprisings aimed at political transformation. He noted that the Constitution not only safeguards civil and political rights but also economic, social, and cultural rights.
In his message, PM Prachanda expressed deep respect for individuals subjected to forced disappearances, those who were injured, and all the participants in the people's war, the historic people's movement, the Madhesh movement, and the struggles of indigenous communities.
Furthermore, the PM extended his wishes for happiness, peace, and progress to all Nepali citizens, both at home and abroad, on this special day. He expressed the hope that Constitution Day would inspire everyone to work toward realizing the dream of a prosperous Nepal and to uphold the values of truth and justice exemplified by the martyrs.
