Kathmandu: Murrah breed buffaloes, provided as assistance from India to Nepal, have reached the country through the Jamunaha transit point in Banke.

The Nepalese government's persistent efforts to introduce this special breed, known for its high fertility rate, have come to fruition.

During Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda's recent visit to India, it was announced that Nepal would receive Murrah buffaloes as part of the assistance.

The Department of Animal Services has confirmed that the buffaloes will undergo the necessary quarantine procedures before being relocated to National Animal Breeding Offices in Pokhara, Lahan, and Nepalgunj.
