Police Apprehend 32, Including Government Officials, on Charges of Illegally Sending Nepalis to Foreign Countries

Kathmandu: In a crackdown on human trafficking activities, the police have arrested 32 individuals, including two government officials, for their involvement in illegally sending Nepali people to foreign countries. The arrests were carried out since October 6.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Somendra Singh Rathaur, the arrested individuals collaborated with human trafficking networks to facilitate the departure of Nepali citizens to foreign countries by falsifying required documents. The charges against the suspects include charging amounts ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 55,000 per person.

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Division led the operation, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects. Among those arrested are government officials Arbinda Yadav, an officer at Nepal Airlines Corporation, and Narbir Khadka, an officer at the Department of Immigration. Authorities are taking legal action against the arrested individuals involved in the illegal trafficking activities.
